Human rights defenders continue to play a big role in the promotion and protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms. They thus deserve the highest level of respect, recognition and protection. HRCU continues to scan through the working environment of human rights defenders and to document and report of the same. It is the continued role of HRDs to read through the weekly update and work towards improving the environment in which they operate.
